Delee Honey’s Chinese Bee Journey

There are more than 200 cooperative bee farms in Delee Honey. These beekeepers travel to various nectar sources, chasing flowers for nectar. There are mainly four traditional bee release routes.

China has a vast territory, rich in nectar plants, varied topography and climate, different periods of the year around the nectar plants flowering different. In order to make full use of the honey plant resources and improve economic benefits, DeleeHoney’s beekeepers span geographic latitudes, all over the pursuit of nectar. There are four main routes for the traditional transfer of land to release bees in the country:

1. Eastern Route

  • The routes to release bees are Fujian, Guangdong — Anhui, Zhejiang — Jiangsu — Shandong — Liaoning — Jilin — Heilongjiang — Inner Mongolia.

The arrangement is that the apiary will go to Guangdong or Fujian to breed in December, and then go to Zhejiang or southern Anhui to collect canola at the end of February or the beginning of March; In May, they transferred to Shandong to collect Robinia pseudoacacia; then they were shipped from Jiaodong Peninsula to Liaodong Peninsula to collect a second robinia pseudoacacia; in June, they sent straight to the Jilin Baekdu Mountain area or the linden tree site in Heilongjiang; and in mid-to-late July, after the end of Tilia amurensis flowers, some bee farms collect Lespedeza nearby, while others turn south to pick sunflowers in Jilin, Liaoning or Inner Mongolia. After September, the temperature in northeast and Inner Mongolia dropped, bee farms in sunflower field breeding and more “Half winter”, to the middle and late November, then south to Guangdong, Fujian South breeding field. The eastern route is about 4,000-5,000 km from the transiting point.

2. The Midline

  • The route of releasing bee is Guangdong, Guangxi-jiangxi, Hunan-hubei-henan-hebei, beijing-inner Mongolia.

The route, with Beijing–Guangzhou Railway as the main transit route, is arranged for the bees to be transported to oilseed rape (Brassica napus l.) or astragalus sinicus (astragalus sinicus L.) sites in late November or early December to breed bee colonies, and to be transported north to Jiangxi and Hunan for rape by the end of February of the following year At the end of March, they went to the middle of Jiangxi, the Dongting Lake District of Hunan or Hubei province to collect Chinese milk vetch; at the end of April, they went to Henan province to collect Robinia pseudoacacia and at the end of May to collect Chinese date flowers nearby; At the end of July and the beginning of August, he went north to Inner Mongolia to collect sunflowers and raise wheat. Usually in the Inner Mongolia Ordos grassland after the “Half winter”, directly transported to Guangdong, Guangxi or returned to the province of origin of the apiary.

3. The Western Front

  • The route of releasing bee is yunnan-sichuan-shaanxi-qinghai (or Ningxia, Inner Mongolia)-Xinjiang.

The arrangement was to arrive in Yunnan in late November or early December to breed bees during the early rape season, and to transfer to Chengdu Plain in late January or early February of the following year to collect rape In late March, they went to southern Shaanxi to collect oilseed rape, or in early April they went to the Guanzhong plain to collect robinia pseudoacacia and alfalfa. In early June, they went to Qinghai to collect oilseed rape, or returned to Ningxia and Gansu to collect mountain flowers, or from Shaanxi to return to Ningxia and Inner Mongolia to collect old melon heads, there are also a few bee farms from Shaanxi or Qinghai expedition to Xinjiang cotton. The route is characterized by the northwest of the main source of honey, the main source of honey in North West is mostly summer and autumn flowering, secretion of honey is stable, is the national honey high-yielding areas.

4. Southern Route

  • The route of releasing bee is Fujian-anhui-jiangxi-hunan-hubei-henan.

After overwintering locally, they moved to the southern provinces of Jiangxi and Anhui in late February to collect oilseed rape, and to the northern part of Hunan and the central part of Jiangxi to collect astragalus sinicus in early April May to Hubei or from Hunan, Jiangxi to Henan to pick locust, jujube, sesame; at the end of July to return to Hubei Jianghan Plain or Hunan Dongting Lake Plain picking cotton.

In recent years, with changes in crop planting and the environment, as well as traffic and information exchanges becoming more convenient, DeleeHoney beekeepers can understand the changes in the nectar source in time and adjust the bee release route, which makes the bee release route.
